The Story of an Illustration

When I am not drawing and making illustrations, I like to spend my time writing books. But every book that I have ever written, I have done a bunch of illustrations as inspiration.

This illustration was one I started back when Whispering Pines was just in the idea stage. It started out as a simple pen and ink drawing.

And then I colored it in with Chameleon Markers with a monochromatic color scheme. I really do love green illustrations.

Eventually I got to adjusting the proportions on the characters, blending, and adding a bit more contrast. While the illustration is now complete (and so is the book), it no longer quite fits the story. There are waaaay too many victims of the Unseeing monster in this illustration, but it was still fun to make, and it did act as inspiration for the novel during its earliest writing stage.
